Amoré Italian Steak & Seafood was founded by Chuck and Lisa Surack from a shared love of authentic Italian cuisine and warm hospitality. The name “Amoré,” meaning “love” in Italian, reflects our connection to Italian culinary traditions and culture. We created a fine dining destination where families and friends enjoy house‑made pasta, premium steaks, and fresh seafood in an elegant, romantic atmosphere in downtown Fort Wayne.

Dinner at Amoré highlights authentic Italian cuisine, premium steaks, and fresh seafood in downtown Fort Wayne’s historic Pearl Building. Our menu uses locally sourced ingredients from Wood Farms, Cook’s Orchard, and Hodge Family Farms, crafted into handmade pasta, steakhouse cuts, and chef‑inspired entrées. Sommelier‑trained staff curate our wine list to complement every dish, creating a fine dining experience for anniversaries, business dinners, and romantic evenings.

Executive Chef Kyle Mares
Chef Kyle Mares attended culinary school at Johnson & Wales University and worked under Chef Michael Chiarello at Bottega in Napa Valley, CA. He had previously spent a decade traveling the world, sampling different cuisines, and developing his finely tuned palate. During his trek through Europe, Kyle quickly grew to appreciate the Italian obsession with locally sourced food and exquisite presentation. A transplant from the San Francisco Bay area, but a native to the Midwest, Kyle would rediscover the quality, variety, and overall charm found at Hoosier farmers’ markets, and he knew Fort Wayne was a place he could proudly put down roots. Utilizing a tremendous selection of homegrown resources, Kyle crafted an elevated dining menu for Amoré showcasing the best pasta, steak, and seafood the region has to offer. For Kyle, cooking is an homage to his grandfather, who years ago helped teach him the culinary arts. Through Amoré – Italian, Steak & Seafood, Kyle strives to every day build upon the legacy of his many mentors who instilled in him an ongoing passion for delivering a delectable dining experience to every guest.
